RAIN

A typical Icelandic "summer", RAIN -and storm, -or almost, at least no chance to use an umbrella, you get wet anyway!!

I must say that I don´t miss those Icelandic summers...

Pastel on paper, 30 x 24 cm.

Wonderful illo. It brings me back to being a child walking to school in a storm in Cleveland, Ohio and having to hold onto a street post to avoid being blown into the street. A nice man rescued me and carried me across the street to my school. Thanks for the evocative image that brought back the memory and an image from exotic Iceland!

This is so beautiful! I love the movement and the color scheme is incredible! She is fighting so hard against that wind and rain! A real power struggle!

She's holding on with all her might! It's a battle between her and the storm for that umbrella! I love how you've captured the power of the figure and nature together.

Wow, so energetic and she looks like she's going to be swept in the air any moment. I also love the contrast in colors with the flesh tones and yellows in the umbrella and the gray and blue storm colors. Wow, what a piece of work!

There's no great feeling like when you're halfway there and the weather outright rips your umbrella to shreds.

Wov it's really raining and the wind is very strong. But she's holding to the umbrella with all her forces. Like we do with hope.

C'mon..really?
We have a lot of Icelanders in our Province. They settled by the 11th largest lake in the world and created fishing villages like Hecla and Gimli. We have fantastic summers here!!!

Luv your style, very cool. My interpretation of this piece is that this is what actually happened to the little Morton Salt girl one second after the shoot for the famous Ad campaign ended.
There, I have just exposed my encyclopedic ignorance of Art!
Stay HAPPY, its contagious!!
